It takes a lot to get a good dog willing to work with you and become a great dog.
Personally, I like to tell clients that good dog breeds are their first step to having a great hunting dog. And that it takes basically three key things I like to call the three “N’s” , that every dog lover, owner and trainer has always required to end up with great dog breeds.
What are the characteristics or traits of the dog you received as a puppy? The genetics of your puppy will have a huge part in determining the potential of your dog and how easily they will take to training, its desire, and most other traits. The pedigree of your dog is the start of your roadmap to success.
This is where you, the master, or in many cases you and your trainer come into play. You will get out of your dog, just like your children or that new employee, what you put into them. Of course, there are rare exceptions to this, but I always prefer to go with the odds and with god dog breeds your odds certainly go up.
A good dog food is what feeds your dogs mind and body as a puppy and full grown dog. Please, feed your dog a good food and if you have questions ask your veterinarian or me for some advice. There are a lot of brands out there, some are good some average and some not good. If you feed crap, you will get crap, lots of it. And your dog and you will suffer the consequences for the life of your dog.
Quality dog breeds don’t come about by accident. With a blood line with a history of excellent dogs, as well as the perfect match of training, we can help. The pictures of the working dogs provide evidence of the quality that Rehberger’s Bird Dogs provides to the Brainerd Lakes area.
